SURVEY BY WELSH GOVERNMENT BY SWANSEA UNIVERSITY FOR PARENTS ON PARENTAL ENGAGEMENT IN EDUCATION - 26.1.22

Dear Parent/Carer

We have today received the following e-mail from the Child Poverty Action Group who are asking for Parents to complete a Survey that has been commission by the Welsh Government which is being carried out by Swansea University.  If you are interested, the link to the survey is contained in the message below.

Kind regards

Dear colleague

Can you help us understand more about parental engagement in education?

The Welsh Government have recently commissioned Swansea University to carry out a research project examining changes in parental engagement in education during the coronavirus pandemic.

The project is led by Dr Janet Goodall at the Department for Education and Childhood Studies at Swansea University, supported by Children in Wales and the Child Poverty Action Group. The work is funded as part of the Welsh Government’s Collaborative Evidence Network, and results will be used to inform their future work around equity in education.

We are looking for parents and carers of school-aged children to complete a short survey about how they have been supporting their children’s learning at home. The survey is confidential and takes around 4 minutes to fill out. Respondents do not need to share any information that will make them personally identifiable. They will not be asked which school their child attends.

We would really appreciate your help to share these surveys with the parents and carers in your community. We’d like to hear from as diverse a range of voices as possible, and capture all the things that parents and carers value when it comes to supporting their children’s learning.

The survey is available online here: https://swanseasom.au1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_8Gkr1y2fVJrXlEq

If you have any questions about the research, please contact Dr Goodall  j.s.goodall@swansea.ac.uk

With best wishes,

Mae mwy nag un o bob pedwar plentyn yn y DU yn tyfu i fyny mewn tlodi. Does dim rhaid iddo fod fel hyn. Ymgyrchwch gyda ni i roi terfyn ar dlodi plant.

More than one in four children in the UK are growing up in poverty. It doesn’t have to be this way. Campaign with us to end child poverty.
