Dear Parent/Carer
Just a reminder that Colofoto are attending at the school to take individual pupil photos only on Friday 28/5/21 . The only group photo that will be taken will be a Leaver's Photo for our Yr 6 pupils.
Unfortunately due to COVID restrictions, we are unable to to have our usual sibling photos taken and in addition, if you wish to purchase any photos, you will need to order these on-line directly with Colofoto. Please note that no orders for photos will be accepted at the school and will be return to you.
In addition, please could everyone ensure that your child(ren) are in school on time as the Photographer will have a strict schedule to maintain and will be starting the photographs at 9.30 a.m. if you child(ren) are late to school and miss their class slot, we cannot guarantee that they will be able to have their picture taken.
Hopefully, in the next Academic Year (2021/2022) things will return to normal and sibling as well as group photos will be able to be taken.
Kind regards
Dear Parent/Carer
This Friday 21st May 2021, we are relaunching the Siarter Iaith. The Criw Cymraeg started this in 2018-2019 and we worked super hard to achieve targets which will help us gain the Bronze Award.
The Siarter Iaith is an initiative from the Welsh Consortium to improve the level of Welsh in schools across Wales. In addition, we have mascots by the names of Seren and Sbarc around the school to shows us welsh words are displayed.
This Friday, all classes will be doing lots of activities to introduce the Siarter Iaith again. Children can wear Red, White and/or Green or anything relating to Wales if they wish to represent our County!
We have posted two short leaflets containing some information on the Siarter Iaith scheme under the "Newsletters" tab.
Kind regards

Re: Colorfoto Individual School Photos – Friday 28th May 2021.
Once again, it has come to that time of year for school photographs to be taken. As you will be aware, this was not possible last year due to the fact that we were at the start of the current COVID pandemic.
Although we still have many restrictions in place we are pleased to see that some of these restrictions have now been eased or lifted.
We have arranged with Colorfoto for school photographs to be taken on Friday 28th May 2021 under strict COVID conditions. We have been assured that the photographer will be wearing PPE equipment and in addition, the photographs will be taken outdoors and not inside the school as is the usual procedure.
Colorfoto will be taking individual photographs this year for all classes but with regard to our Year 6 Leavers, a group photo will also will be taken for them only. Due to the COVID restrictions which are still in place at this time, no sibling/family photographs will be taken.
The photographer will start photographing pupils at 9.30 a.m. so please ensure that your child is not late to school that day as if the timeslot for their class, we are not able to guarantee that their photo will be taken. School uniform is optional for these photos.
In addition, we have been informed by Colorfoto that although you will receive the proofs of your child(rens) photos from the school, orders can only be made either by telephoning Colorfoto directly or by placing an order on their website. No photo orders will be accepted by the school and will be returned to you.

Dear Parent/Carer
We have today sent to all parents/carers by way of e-mail a letter from Mr Gardner regarding Covid testing, additional symptoms and testing results.
In addition, we have also posted a copy of the letter on this website which can be accessed by clicking on the "News & Events" tab and then by clicking on the "Newsletters" tab.

Dear Parent/Carer
RCTBCB have informed us that the Welsh Government are making Covid-19 testing available to people with a wider range of symptoms such as fatigue, muscle ache or pain, a sore throat, a headache, a runny nose, nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea. This is because some variants and young children do not display the classic three Covid-19 symptoms initially.
In the circumstances, RCTCBC together with the Welsh Government have requested that people (including children) to be tested if they are feeling unwell in any way. Further detail on how to apply for a test is provided at
https://gov.wales/apply-coronavirus-covid-19-test
or by simply call the free number 119 between the hours of 7am to 11pm.
Individuals and their households who take a test because of these other wider symptoms are not required to isolate while they await their test result. This includes learners, who can continue to attend their school or setting while they await a test result.
If individuals then receive a positive Covid-19 result, they and their household must then isolate. Households must also isolate if anyone develops any of the three classic Covid-19 symptoms while waiting for a test result taken on wider symptoms to come back.
Clearly, children and adults with diarrhoea and/or vomiting should not attend their school/setting until they are symptom-free for 48 hours, even if their Covid-19 test result is negative.
The FAQs on the Council’s website have been updated to reflect this latest advice – www.rctcbc.gov.uk/schoolfaqs
We have also e-mailed this information to all parents who have registered an e-mail address with us this evening.
Kind regards

Dear Parent/Carer
As you are aware, all schools are obliged to take 5 Inset/Teacher Training Days per Academic Year. Due to the COVID situation that we have found ourselves we still have three of these Teacher Training Days left to take.
Due to the fact that we have encountered two periods of lockdown during the past and the current Academic Years, this has made the taking of these days extremely difficult.
In the circumstances we have now arranged to take these days on the following dates:-
Friday 30th April;
Monday 21st June and;
Friday 2nd July.
We are sorry for inconvenience caused.

Dear Parent/Carer
Red Nose Day is back on Friday the 19th March 2021 and the excitement is building. We have so much to share with you, including loads of fun ideas to get involved with us here at our school.
This Friday, to celebrate the event pupils can wear wacky clothes and/or hair for the day. Pupils can be wacky by mismatching clothes, colours - anything really with a little bit of madness!
Please could any donations be made on line via the official website as no money can be brought into school.
Thank you
