  • PUPILS RETURN TO SCHOOL - SEPTEMBER 2020 - 30.6.20

    Tue 30 Jun 2020

    Dear Parents/Guardians

As you will be aware, like many local authorities across Wales nursery aged children in Rhondda Cynon Taf have not been included in the phased return of learners back to schools over this three week period.

However, it is RCT's intention to include nursery aged learners in their planning for next term.  RCT are less clear at present in relation to the numbers of learners that will be returning to school at any given time in September.

As soon as we receive further guidance from RCT we will communicate this to you.

    Kind regards

  • ARRANGEMENTS FOR PUPILS RETURNING TO SCHOOL : TIMINGS, DROP OFF AND COLLECTION POINTS - 25.6.20

    Thu 25 Jun 2020

    Dear Parent/Guardian

Just to clarify the arrangements for drop off and collection of children as there seems to be some confusion.  The arrangements are:

If your child is coming to school only once a week for their Pupil-Teacher catch up day, they need to be dropped off and collected at their class Fire Exit door at the times allocated to them.  They will remain with their Class Teacher and classmates all day and will not mix with other classes or groups throughout the day.

If your child is coming to school for childcare to our school hub they will need to be in school for an 8.00 a.m. start and can be collected anytime up to 5.00 p.m.  When dropping off your child in the morning, please (if you can) indicate to the hub staff what time you will be collecting your child.  All hub children must be collected by 5.00 p.m. at the latest. Your child will need to be dropped off and collected at the Nursery door entrance.

Lastly, if your child is coming to school for both a Pupil-Teacher catch up day AND hub childcare during the week-

On the day your child has a catch up day: your child will still need to be in school for 8.00 a.m. but will need to be dropped off and collected at their class Fire Exit door  NOT the Nursery class door which is the entrance for children attending the childcare hubs. They will stay with their class teacher until they are collected.  When dropping off your child in the morning, please (if you can) indicate to the Class Teacher what time you will be collecting your child.  All hub children attending a Pupil-Teacher catch up day  must be collected by 5.00 p.m. at the latest.

We hope this clarifies the situation for everyone.  If for any reason, your no longer require hub childcare or your child cannot attend either the hub childcare or their catch up date with their class teacher, please could you inform the school office either by telephone or by e-mail so that we can adjust our staffing accordingly.  Please do not text or ring members of staff .

    Kind regards

  • RETURN TO SCHOOL - 29TH JUNE 2020

    Tue 23 Jun 2020

    Dear Parents/Guardians

If you have informed us that your child is returning to school as from next week Monday 29th June, you will already have received a text and an e-mail from us confirming your child's weekly catch up day with their Class Teacher for the next three weeks.  In addition, if you have also applied for a childcare place, you will have received an e-mail from us confirming this .

We would remind you that all childcare children must report to school at 8.00 a.m. and the latest that your child can be collected is 5.00 p.m.  In addition, the entrance for all hub childcare children even on their Pupil-Teacher catch up day for drop off and collection will be the Nursery door entrance.

If you have not applied for a hub childcare place and your child is only coming into school one day per week for a catch up session with their Class Teacher, then the entrance for drop off and collection is their child's class fire exit door.

Please note children will not be admitted through any other entrances at the school.

In addition, can you ensure that your children are dropped off and collected at the times given to you as if your child is late, we cannot guarantee that they will be admitted as we have to adhere to the guidelines and protocol of staggered start and finish times to protect children, staff and their families and hopefully minimising the risk of transmission of COVID-19.

Please also note that we are unable to change the day and times allocated to you.

Lastly, if your child is unable to come to school whether they are in the hub or just attending school for a catch up session, please could you inform us as soon as possible so that we can adjust our staffing accordingly either by telephoning the school office or alternatively, sending us an e-mail at admin.capcochprimary@rctcbc.gov.uk

    Kind regards
