  • REVISED RETURN DATE FOR YEAR 1/2 - 26.11.20

    Thu 26 Nov 2020

    Dear Parent/Guardian

We have been made aware of a discrepancy in the return date for Year 1/2 children.

As we must be guided by the date that the Track & Trace team have given to parents we have changed the return date for all Year 1/2 pupils to Wednesday 9th December.

We have this evening, sent an e-mail to the RCT Track & Trace Team asking if we too can also be contacted in future (which is not the case at the moment) along with parents with the return date for isolating children so that there will be no confusion over dates in the future,

    Kind regards

  • APPLICATIONS FOR BREAKFAST CLUB - SPRING TERM - 4TH JANUARY TO 26TH MARCH 2021

    Thu 26 Nov 2020

    Dear Parent/Guardian

We have been asked by Rhondda Cynon Taf CBC to remind you that if your child requires a place in the spring term breakfast club (4th Jan – 26th Mar) you will need to complete an application form using the following link

    https://www.rctcbc.gov.uk/breakfastclubform

The form will be available for completion from 7am, Friday 27th November to 5pm, Friday 4th December. The number of places will be limited to ensure that social distancing and effective hygiene and preventative measures can be maintained. Places will be prioritised based on the time of application and you will be notified at the end of the application if you are successful or unsuccessful.  Unsuccessful applicants will be placed on a reserve list and non-attendance will result in places being reallocated.

Please note that in light of the current legislation in relation to breakfast clubs, prioritisation cannot be given to specific groups (e.g. previously unsuccessful applicants, vulnerable groups or key workers) as this provision is intended to provide a healthy breakfast to all learners. As places are restricted, please only apply if your child requires access to a free, healthy breakfast before the start of the school day

  • Wearing of Face Masks

    Tue 24 Nov 2020
    Dear Parents, carers or guardians,

The Welsh Government has updated its guidance on the use of face coverings in schools.

To reduce the risk of transmission amongst parents and relatives, please wear masks when visiting school, and at drop-off and collection areas. Maintaining clear social distance at the school gates will also reduce risk and set a good example to pupils.

If you have a secondary school aged child, be aware that face coverings should now be worn by year 7 and above pupils in all areas outside the classroom and be worn on dedicated school transport for year 7 and up.

Please follow these guidelines and encourage your child to follow theirs too.

Along with regular hand washing/sanitising and social distancing, this will reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 at school as far as possible. They have been made stronger to keep you and your families as safe as possible. They are based on new advice from Welsh Government’s Technical Advisory Group, as we learn more about the way COVID-19 is transmitted.

Thank you for your help in doing all we can – together - to keep ourselves and others safe.
  • Christmas Dinner

    Mon 23 Nov 2020

    Dear Parent/Guardian

    RE: CHRISTMAS DINNER/BAGUETTE – 9TH DECEMBER 2020

As you will be aware. we are in unusual and challenging times at the moment due to the COVID situation. that we have now found ourselves in.

As is the case at this moment in time, all children eat their lunch in their classroom bubbles and this will continue for the foreseeable future.

This year our school Christmas Dinner will be on Wednesday 9th December 2020.

The children will have a choice of either a traditional Roast Turkey dinner or a Turkey and stuffing baguette.

Will you please complete and return the slip below no later than Monday 30th November  2020  indicating whether or not your child wishes to have Christmas Dinner and also their preference.  If your child does not wish to have dinner or a baguette, you will still need to complete the slip below and return it to us.

Any orders received after the 30th November cannot be guaranteed a dinner or baguette as our Cook Mrs Edwards needs to place her orders for the number of baguettes, turkey etc. order as at the 30th November with the various suppliers.   In addition, please note that no orders will be accepted unless the slip below is returned either by way of e-mail to admin.capcochprimary@rctcbc.gov.uk (which is the preferred option) or by sending the printed and completed slip in with your child.  No orders will be taken over the phone.  Please do not e-mail these slips to your child’s class teacher.

The cost of a meal is £2.75 per child.  However, if you are in receipt of Free School Meals then no payment will be necessary.  Just as a reminder, dinner money needs to be paid at least 24 hours in advance as payment for dinners cannot be made on the day that dinner is to be taken.  No dinner will be given if your child’s account is in arrears unless you have made a prior arrangement with Mrs Kent in the school office.  Arrangements cannot be made with your child’s classteacher
