Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Dear Parent/Guardian
We have today been informed by track and trace service that our Year 1/2 Class must self isolate until Monday 23rd November and providing that they do not have any COVID symptoms, they may return to school on Tuesday 24th November
We can only apologise for any confusion of the return date to school in this matter but we, like other schools in the RCT area calculated the return date on the advice in our documentation which states:-
"Potential close contacts in the first instance should self isolate for 24 hrs pending further investigations by the Contract Tracing Service who with Public Health Wales will advise on which confirmed direction contact will require self isolation for a 14 day period"
As we did not receive confirmation of the positive COVID result until late yesterday evening, we interpreted that Year 1/2 became close contacts from when the test result was received which meant that they need to self isolate for a 24 hr period today whilst the Track and Trace investigation was conducted and that the further 14 days period would start yesterday. However, it now transpires that the period is calculated from when the person was last in school and this is why the date has changed. Unfortunately, our Guidance did not mention that the period starts from the date that the person was last on school premises and has lead to confusion over the return date.
Kind regards
S K GARDNER

RE: INFORMATION : COVID-19
This evening, we have been advised that there has been a confirmed case of COVID-19 within our school community, diagnosed over the half –term period.
As the school was closed from Friday 23rd October, a significant number of days before the confirmed case, no member of the school community has been identified as a close contact and there is no requirement for any contact groups or classes to self-isolate and the school remains open for all pupils
We have this evening sent an e-mail to all parents whi have registered an e-mail address with us attaching a letter from Mr Gardner regarding the situation and which also contains further information in relation to how you can stop COVID-19 transmission and what to do if your child develops symptoms. This letter can be accessed by clicking on the "News & Events" tab and then by further clicking on the "Newsletters" tab.
